Hypnotherapy

Naturopathy is a comprehensive practice that considers the whole body with all its complexities and interrelated systems rather than just isolated symptom management (although this is managed also). Naturopaths aim to treat the underlying causes of illness, disease and sub-optimal functioning of our bodies. Everything we do, think and eat contributes to who we are. So, when addressing health and healing we need to consider nutrition, lifestyle, the environment we live in, management of our mood and stress levels, how we are digesting food and our hormone balance. This approach allows us to better understand how your individual make-up, lifestyle and health history have impacted your current health status. We then work together as a team, (no one knows you like you do!) to tailor support that suits your needs and requirements.

What can Hypnotherapy assist with?

Naturopathy may assist with the following issues:

What does a Hypnotherapy consult involve?

Our naturopathic offering covers nutrition and dietary assessment, lifestyle guidelines around things like sleep, stress and exercise, digestive support, nutritional deficiencies detection and examining each body symptom for signs and symptoms. Our offerings are supported by the latest scientific evidence to ensure a tailored treatment option for you. Time is taken to thoroughly investigate you and your body to look at the best way to overcome your presenting issues and what is then required to maintain optimal health and performance moving forward. This may include the prescription of herbal medicines, nutritional supplementation or dietary changes. It also often includes some diagnostic testing to better understand what is going on with your health. This might include things like hormone testing, blood testing, stool testing or food intolerance testing.

Hypnotherapy FAQs

There’s no such thing as a silly question, especially when your health is concerned. Here are some of our naturopathy FAQs. For any other advice on love, life and colonics drop us a line.
This is specific to each person – all our treatment is tailored to you. Considerations of treatment length include: how long you’ve had the condition, your commitment and dedication to the treatment, how well you respond to the treatment and what support you need based on your training or lifestyle circumstances. A rough guide is an initial appointment, and a follow-up approx. 3 weeks later to check on supplements, herbs and other advice given. Then depending on requirements, appointments are often spaced out every 6 weeks or so. My aim is to empower you with the knowledge and support you need so you ultimately don’t need me.

If you have any recent (last 6 months) testing including blood tests, any relevant scans or other investigations please bring a copy with you to your initial appointment.

We will then assess what else may be needed based on your needs. Sometime, no testing is needed. Other times, we might need to basic medical blood testing. Often we undertake ‘functional’ testing to help identify biochemical, nutritional, metabolic and hormonal factors that may be holding you back from reaching your health goals. These include:

  • Hormones such as oestrogen, progesterone and androgen hormones
  • Stress hormones
  • Food intolerance testing
  • Complete stool testing incl. bacterial and parasite investigation
  • Thyroid hormones
  • Hair mineral analysis
  • SIBO breathe testing
  • Leaky gut assessment
  • Functional liver testing
Unfortunately not, Naturoapthy was removed from private health coverage back in 2019.

Naturopathy uses a holistic approach to treat the body as a whole. It is a system of health care that has been around the world for over a century. The philosophy of naturopathy is based on treating the cause and not merely the symptoms as well as educating patients about what is happening within their bodies, why, and what the treatment will do for them.

A Naturopath within Australia is a registered health practitioner that has spent a minimum of 4 years studying at University. They generally have a degree in Health Science, incorporating both traditional and alternative forms of medicine with conventional medicine.

You will gain understanding of your current health condition and how your lifestyle, diet, nutrient deficiencies and imbalances within your body are affecting your health. When working along side a naturopath over a minimum of a 6-12 month period you can hope to see changes in your symptoms and current health status.

In your first consult, the practitioner will go over your entire health history and current health status. It is important that no details are missed as these can help to identify possible causes of symptoms you are experiencing. Then, if necessary, you may be required to receive some functional testing such as blood tests, food allergy testing, gut microbiome tests etc. You will receive a personalised treatment plan and advice around diet, lifestyle, natural medicine and herbs. If appropriate, a herbal tonic may be prescribed or supplements that aim to support your body in healing itself.

Naturopathy works by addressing the cause rather than the symptoms by removing obstacles in your health. It also works by using herbal and nutritional supplements, diet & lifestyle advice.

A naturopath can help to support the body in all health conditions. Most naturopaths choose to specialise in certain conditions e.g. reproductive health, gut health etc. However they can very capable of assisting with all areas of holistic health care.

Generally a naturopathic doctor, is someone who holds both a degree in medicine and naturopathy. Hence they study all general medical coursework to become a General Practitioner plus study on traditional medicine and more natural sciences. A Naturopath is someone who has simply studied health science and traditional medicine and more natural sciences.
