This level of Infrared emission means we can fulfil more benefit faster along with a more relaxing sauna experience.

"Infrared Sauna is the safest, most efficacious and economical way of depurating stored toxins."

Dr Sherry Rogers MD

Some specific benefits about the different Infrared wavelengths:

Penetrates just below the skins surface; creating sweat that may promote cell health, wound healing, collagen production & skin purification

Penetrates deeper into the body’s soft tissue increasing circulation, releasing oxygen to reach injured areas. May assist in pain relief & improved circulation (passive cardio workout).

Penetrates the deepest into the fat cells causing vasodilation. Fat cells vibrate to expel toxins, resulting in the greatest levels of detoxification and stimulate your metabolism to aid in weight-loss, lower blood pressure & allow a deep sense of relaxation.

So how does Infrared Sauna work?

Infrared waves effect fat cells where cholesterol, heavy metals and toxins are stored. Fat cells held together with ion bonds are opened by the vibrations from Infrared wavelengths thereby releasing toxins and heavy metals, which are then encapsulated by water molecules.
Because the body’s natural method of cooling is to sweat, these water molecules containing cholesterol, heavy metals and toxins are forced to the surface and are released through the skin in your sweat. Don’t just sweat was in a standard Sauna, CLEANSE in our Infrared Sauna.

So how is this Sauna different to the rest?

Infrared Saunas work differently to Conventional Saunas in that the body is able to eliminate more toxins and heavy metals due to the advanced heating technology. Conventional humid steam saunas force the body to perspire eliminating 97% water and 3% toxicity but our gentle Infrared sauna penetrates 3-4cm into the body’s tissue and of what is eliminated, 80% is water and 20% is toxicity. Allowing for a more productive and comfortable sweat.

pH Clinic Infrared SaunaTestimonials

“Using a sauna has always been a go to tool for me. They help me relax, unwind and feel significantly better all round. When I was very sick from an illness caused by a tick bite, I tried multiple different treatments to try and help with no avail. By far, sessions in the infrared sauna were the most beneficial treatment and to this day I still credit my recovery and wellness to the use of the infrared sauna."

Harry B.

"Unlike some of the other infrared sauna places, this one is private with an adjoining shower. The clinic is so welcoming and clean. The clinic admin, Charlie, was amazing!!! She was super sweet and helpful. The face Cryo was also so great! I’ve never felt such a burst of natural energy! I’m really eager to come back and see if the face cryo helps all my nasal blockage and breathing/sleep problems.”

Kristen K.

“I love the use of Infrared Sauna in my weekly me-time routine. I find using them weekly maximises the benefit, and I always feel amazing afterwards!”

Infrared Sauna FAQs

There’s no such thing as a silly question, especially when your health is concerned. Here are some of our Infrared Sauna FAQs. For any other advice on love, life and infrared drop us a line.

Health Professionals have been using far infrared technology for years. Have you ever gone to a Physiotherapist with a sprain and they put a red heat lamp on it? Well that’s Infrared. Infrared treatment is also widely used in burn units to accelerate healing and hospital baby care incubators. Far Infrared is from the safest end of the sun’s spectrum and is also something that our warm body generates.

No you cannot get sunburnt in an Infrared Sauna  – all life requires FIR heat from the sun. FIR heat is not ultraviolet radiation but a narrow band of energy within the 5 to 15 micron level. This type of energy travels 40 – 45 mm deep into the body. The sun is the primary source of radiant energy but not all of this energy is beneficial. Sunlight also contains harmful ultraviolet rays which are not present in the far Infrared Sauna. FIR heat provides the healthy benefits of natural sunlight without any of the dangerous effects of ultraviolet rays.

The Colon is a major part of the excretory system, (which also includes the Kidneys, Liver, Lungs and the Skin) and is responsible for eliminating food and other bodily wastes. The healthy Colon provides an important role in protecting us from infection and disease. In a normal functioning Colon, this is achieved with the help of approximately one hundred trillion friendly bacteria, which inhabit the Colon and make up some 70% of the dry weight of our fecal waste. The Colon is principally controlled by the parasympathetic nervous system, a branch of the nervous system which controls resting, relaxing, rebuilding and digestive functions.

However, the delicate balance of this internal ecosystem can very easily be disturbed by a number of factors including stress, pollution, poor food and drink choices, certain medications, including antibiotics, smoking, exposure to toxic substances and food preservatives.

You are welcome to wear whatever you are comfortable in during your session. We recommend underwear or swimmers and a towel between you and the wooden cedar wood bench. You will be provided with a towel but if you prefer to bring your own then that is fine.

Often after a treatment you will have perspired toxins from the body so a rinse-off may be necessary unless you plan on heading off to the beach or home for a proper shower. We have a shower in our sauna rooms that you are more than welcome to use after your session and towels to dry off.

We ask you arrive hydrated prior to your session (approx 1litre 1 hour prior to your session is adequate). We’ll get you to do a health waiver prior to you going into the sauna. You will undress and enter the sauna (which will be pre-heated). You will be given water, a towel and instructions on the use of the sauna. At that time you will sit down inside the sauna, get yourself situated and begin the heating up process. You can have the light on or off, or you can listen to music or even read a book. Some people simply choose to be quiet and meditate while they’re having a treatment, our Sauna’s are spacious enough to do some gentle Yoga or have a lovely heat assisted stretch.

It feels wonderful. You should expect to feel relaxed, renewed, rejuvenated and very calm. You have have some residual sweat as your core temp has been elevated, make sure you wear comfortable clothes to wear afterwards. – wrestling tights on can be a struggle!

Some people who are used to detoxing, saunas and/or sweating a lot, will actually sweat from beginning to end of their session. Others who are not used to it, may take 10-20 minutes in the heat of the sauna before they begin to sweat. But eventually, everyone sweats and sweats a lot. We will provide you with water and towels for each session you have.

The beneficial side effects may include: stimulation of the immune system, cardiovascular conditioning, reduced lactic acid, weight loss, calorie expenditure, pain relief, reduced inflammation, cellulite reduction, decrease in stress levels and excretion of heavy metals. Not bad for just sitting in a Sauna!!

Yes, if you have haemophilia, MS, are pregnant, or have a pacemaker you should not use infrared sauna therapy (or at least check with your specialist before you do). If you are currently seeking medical attention and are on drugs for a specific condition please consult a physician before embarking on new therapies.

A sauna session is 40 minutes in duration.

Yes, our Sauna fits multiple people comfortably and the wavelengths are projected based on the bodies in the sauna, so having two or three people wont affect the effectiveness of your session. Please note all saunas are booked privately so you will never be sharing with a stranger.

Unfortunately not, as this therapy is not recognised by health insurance companies. Hopefully the health care system will come to realise its benefits as the demand for it increases.
