Tap water is safe, right?

I’m a health enthusiast and ‘water’ is a topic I’m particularly passionate about. I’m always shocked when I ask someone if they use a water filter, how many peoples answer is “what for” I think its common knowledge that ensuring your drinking water is of utmost quality as its literally feeding your cells and tissues with the life force they need to survive. It’s not common knowledge so I’m taking on this topic for you and hopefully by the end of this read you’ll be motivated to invest in a water filter that will enhance you and your families health forever.

The truth is, the majority of society are walking around dehydrated. Literally over 95% of the population are in a chronic state of dehydration (Buttar 2010) and they don’t even know it. They aren’t feeling thirsty anymore, their thirst receptors are so inactive and dysfunctional that their messaging systems to and from the brain telling them to drink water have stopped and their tissues and organs are gradually deteriorating.

There is an epic book by Dr Batmanghelidj “Your Body’s Many Cries For Water”  about water and hydration and he explains how 80% of illness and disease can be treated with hydration and symptoms simply resolve when given adequate fluids. We are all so quick to medicate which is actually just adding more toxins to the load our body is dealing with in a society of excess. Remember the solution to pollution is dilution!

Unfortunately our tap water is not safe to drink (despite the protestations by the authorities in charge of it), many people think it is because it’s not going to make you sick immediately but the long term effects are damning and you need to understand why from my opinion.

Fluoride:

Fluoride is a known neurotoxin and has been linked to pituitary tumour growth as well as calcification in tissue, bones and organs. The bottom line, It’s an industrial waste product which was added to our water supply back in early 1900’s (widespread in 1950s) as a means to “decrease tooth decay” and even though the respective Dental Associations around the globe stick to their party line, there have been a great number of non-industry funded research papers exposing not only the ineffectiveness in preventing tooth decay but also demonstrating how a volatile halogen that isn’t meant to be in the human body does harm – fancy that!? Fluoride has been shown to interfere with the bodies natural biochemistry including hormone and brain function. Healthy adult kidneys excrete 50-60% of the fluoride ingested each day. The remainder accumulates in bones, joints and other tissue. Infants and children excrete less fluoride from their kidneys and take up to 80% of the ingested fluoride into their bones. This is a huge problem which should not be ignored!!

Chlorine:

Chlorine is also added to our tap water. It is a very dangerous toxin which has many uses including disinfecting and bleaching. Chlorine has long been used to disinfect our drinking water because it controls the growth of unwelcome bacteria such as E-coli and Giardia. What do you think our microbiome is made up of? The last 15 years of research has shown us that our entire body’s microbiome is an ecosystem of bacteria, yeasts, fungi and other bugs. Consuming chlorine in our water is sterilising our microbiome opening us up to a whole host of health afflictions and autoimmune conditions. Research has shown, however, that long‐term exposure to chlorine leads to the production of free radicals within the body. Free radicals are carcinogenic, and cause tremendous damage to our cells.

Did you know?

Some sources suggest that the risk of developing cancer is 93% higher in people who drink or are otherwise exposed to chlorinated water? While we cant speak to the absolute veracity of this claim it does suggest that it’s something that, if possible, should be at least understood by the person drinking it and possibly avoided avoided altogether. We take Chlorine seriously in our family and we’re hoping that we can impress upon you the need to do so for yours.

Heavy Metals:

Heavy metals are natural formations in the Earth’s crust, named for their high density. These metals include some of the most common ones on Earth, such as tin, gold, copper, and silver, which are widely used in agriculture and manufacturing. Many of these metals are essential to human bodily functions, but in large doses, they can cause serious toxicity, especially in children and developing foetuses. There are several heavy metals on the World Health Organisation’s list of Chemicals of Major Public Health Concern, including lead, cadmium, mercury, and arsenic, all of which can be found in tap water. Heavy metals are found in our water supply and can be a product of old/corroding plumbing pipes and hot water systems, agricultural pesticides, electronics and metal industries. These metals accumulate in the body and can cause a myriad of health problems including but not limited too; rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, neurological problems, nausea, gut dysfunction, skin discolouration, cancer or the bladder, lungs, skin, kidney, liver or prostate and musculoskeletal damage. Children are especially vulnerable to heavy metal poisoning, which can cause developmental damage, lower IQ, seizures, and even death.

It’s not okay is it? no, its not! So what are you gonna do about it? Its time to take your health SERIOUSLY – no more ‘don’t fix whats not broken’ thats what a few clients have told me was their approach to health/life until they got their diagnosis….

We are lucky enough to live on this beautiful earth so you owe it to yourself and your family to be the most healthy and informed human you can be. No more pretending you don’t know enough, you’ve read this so now you know how we feel about tap water (we invite you to do your own digging – can we recommend a diverse range of sources ie not what comes up first in google SEOs haha). Your tap water is a sneaky, silent and slow killer, so invest in a high quality water filter and have the peace of mind and confirmation that that is one less risk you and your family are exposed to.

How much should I drink?

If you commit to drinking 1 litre for every 20kg you weight per day, for 30 days. Your body’s recognition of hydration and a lot of its ailments would resolve. You wouldn’t be able to stop drinking this amount of water either after 30 days because your body would crave it. It’s not easy to do, and you need to build up your consumption gradually. The more water you consume the better your body will feel. Every single function from digestion and elimination right down to the electrical impulse exchange between cells will become more efficient. If oxygen is the breath of life then water is the blood of life. You definitely don’t want to be drinking tap water for the reason mentioned above. One of the easiest ways to reduce your toxic load is to interrupt the supply of toxics entering into your body. Keep the garbage from coming in at this stage by eliminating tap water. Its an easy fix and once you do, you’ll notice the difference. Good quality water filtration systems can be costly much like organic food, but I am a big believer in that you can only afford what you think you deserve. It’s worth the investment, YOUR HEALTH is worth the investment.
