Get out(side)! In today’s world, it’s easy to overlook the simple things that nature has provided for our well-being. We live most of our lives indoors, under artificial lighting, disconnected from the natural forces that shaped us over millions of years of evolution. But here’s the truth: almost all modern-day diseases are the result of ignoring nature’s instructions and hiding from the very thing that sustains us—the sun.
Let’s take a moment to reflect. The sun is the reason we exist today. It’s not just some distant star; it’s the source of life itself. Over millions of years, we evolved from single-celled organisms that were more similar to bacteria than anything else. Why do you think our gut relies so heavily on bacteria for digestion? It’s because we once were bacteria! Nature doesn’t make mistakes, and we cannot seperate ourselves from nature, we are nature!
But despite this deep connection, somewhere along the way, we’ve been sold a different narrative—one that tells us that a tan is bad, that we need to shield ourselves from the sun. Yet, research consistently shows that the sun’s rays, particularly UV light, trigger the production of vitamin D in our bodies, which is essential for our immune function and overall health. In fact, melanin, the pigment that gives our skin its color, is actually a protective mechanism against the harmful effects of the sun, including skin cancer.
Think about it: every time you ‘slip, slop, slap’ you’re blocking the suns rays that help your body produce vitamin D. But it doesn’t stop there. When you wear sunglasses, you not only limit melanin production, but you’re also signaling to your brain that you’re not in the sun, which ironically leads to sunburns—the very thing everyone is afraid of!
But here’s the truth: your body is designed to harness free energy from the sun. Melanin in your skin and eyes is your natural solar panel. It absorbs all wavelengths of light, including those non-native electromagnetic fields (EMFs) that most people don’t even know are surrounding them. And if that isn’t amazing enough, melanin acts as a powerful heavy metal chelator, helping to rid your body of toxic metals that can harm your health.
Sunlight also stimulates melanin to do something incredibly powerful: it splits water in your tissues, producing oxygen and molecular hydrogen. This is like giving your body a breath of fresh air – fighting oxidative stress and boosting your overall vitality.
Once you start embracing the sun and letting your body gradually build a tolerance to it, something remarkable happens: you develop what’s known as a ‘solar callus’. This is your body’s natural ability to adapt to sunlight, and yes, everyone has this ability. Instead of fearing the sun, you can begin to unlock the free energy and healing power it provides.
The more tanned you are, the healthier you are. Healthy can be simple.
– Watch the sunrise to prepare your body for the sun later in the day and to set your circadian rhythm.
– Slowly build your tolerance to the sun and develop a solar callus over time.
– Drink electrolyzed reduced water to provide TRUE hydration and energy.
– Avoid seed oils and sunscreens with toxic ingredients that block the sun’s healing power and contribute to your toxic burden.
– Watch the sunset to unwind, relax, and prepare your body for restful sleep, as well as receiving a good dose of red light.
– Wear blue light blockers after dark to protect your brain, allow melatonin to be secreted and support your circadian rhythm.
So, the next time you step outside, don’t run for the shade or hide behind layers of sunscreen and sunglasses. Step into the light, breathe in the fresh air, and allow your body to absorb the life-giving energy of the sun. Your body, mind and spirit will thank you. If you’re feeling fatigued, sluggish, or out of sync with your natural rhythm, it’s time to make a change. Let’s explore how simple shifts—like embracing the sun, optimizing hydration, and protecting your circadian rhythm—can transform your health. Want to dive deeper?
